Helping the Trust

Response Form IconWe know that the Trust will need a lot of help as it develops. If you’d like to keep in touch by joining our mailing list, please let us know using our Response Form : complete the “My Details” section, and send it to us by post. It is entirely up to you how you choose to receive information from the Trust, but you may wish to note that electing to receive information by email will help to minimize the Trust’s printing and postage costs. You can tell us to stop sending you information at any time.

Any personal information you give us will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Statement

Whatever it is,” said Captain Flint, “I’ll be glad to come. If we sail to the Baltic, you’ll want someone to haul up the anchor, and if we go prospecting it’ll be hard work on a hill pony if he had to carry the gold as well as the tents.

If you feel you might like to help the Trust in the future, we will be glad to hear from you. We will then be able to bear you in mind as and when opportunities to help the Trust arise. The main pre-requisite is a desire to support the Trust and its aims. As the Trust develops we expect to identify specific voluntary roles and the skills, if any, required for them. But if you have any existing skills or experience that you feel may be useful to the Trust, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Financial Support

Our savings were melting away, but… we thought we could take the risk of one more year and the writing of Peter Duck.

All organisations require resources to achieve their aims and the Trust is no exception. For the foreseeable future the Trust will be dependent on public support to fund its development and activities. We are, therefore, very grateful for the encouragement and help of all donations, whether large or small.

If you would like to support the Trust financially, there are a number of ways in which you can do so. Please use the links below for further information.

The Fundraising Standards Board

FRSB IconThe Trust is a member of the Fundraising Standards Board. This means we are committed to the highest standards in all of our fundraising activities.

We will always aim to fundraise in accordance with our Fundraising Statement, which includes our Fundraising Promise.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid IconIf you are a UK taxpayer you can use Gift Aid to make your donations go further at no cost to yourself. If you Gift Aid your donations, the Trust will be able to reclaim 25p tax on every £1.00 you donate.

Please note that:

  • To qualify for gift aid you must pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that the Trust will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year.
  • If you pay income tax at the higher rate, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return if you want to receive the additional tax relief due to you.
  • You can make a Gift Aid Declaration to the Trust using our Response Form. Please complete the Gift Aid section and enter your name, address and post code in the “My Details” section (the Declaration is invalid without these).
  • You do not have to send a donation with the Declaration itself. We’ve provided options to let you tailor your declaration to your personal circumstances and wishes. If you need to tailor your declaration further – for instance to Gift Aid only specific historical donations, or those covering a particular historical period, please contact us to discuss.

Please do not forget to let us know if you:

  • Want to cancel your Gift Aid declaration.
  • Change your name or home address.
  • No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
