Information About the Arthur Ransome Trust Project: Snug Berths
This page contains introductory information about Snug Berths, the Arthur Ransome Trust’s project to develop exhibition space in the Lake District.
.
Snug Berths will be semi-permanent exhibitions about Arthur Ransome, located in the southern Lake District.
We realise that it will take time to develop a permanent Ransome Home. We therefore see Snug Berths as an interim solution: they will be stepping stones towards a permanent centre, providing a place (or places) where visitors to the Lakes can discover more about Arthur Ransome.
We will be looking to work closely with existing organisations and interest groups when developing Snug Berths.
Latest Developments
We have made limited progress on Snug Berths, and hope to announce a small development in the Coniston area early in 2012. (updated 15 December, 2011).
How can I help?
If you are an individual or organisation who feels they can offer ideas or help to develop Snug Berths, please let us know using our contacts page.
If you would like to support Snug Berths financially, please see our support information for details of how to do so.
We won’t be able to produce an accurate budget for Snug Berths until we have consulted further with our prospective partners. But we do know that your support will increase our options, helping us to develop a really exciting, interesting and informative exhibition. Thank you!
