A Ransome Home is our main, long-term project: work leading to the establishment of a permanent Arthur Ransome Centre in the southern Lake District.
We realise that establishing, developing and maintaining a permanent Ransome Home will require substantial resources. This is why we need to reserve funds towards that goal. For the time being fundraising will, therefore, be the most visible expression of A Ransome Home.
However, the project will involve many stages, including preparatory work such as consultation and research. We will keep you informed about our practical progress and plans whenever we can.
Latest Developments
We have made good progress researching our options during the latter half of 2011, and are currently looking in detail at a number of interesting properties. We hope to continue making progress early in 2012, and we’ll announce more details as soon as we can (update 15 December, 2011).
