Hawkshead is at the heart of Arthur Ransome’s Lakeland, between Coniston and Windermere and only a few miles from his last resting place at Rusland. Do look out for the Trust if you are coming to the Show.

Grasmere Show
August 25, 2013
“She told the Swallows of the great hound-trails… of the guides’ races… of the wrestling… of the sheepdog trials…” (Swallowdale). Now in its 161st year, the Grasmere Show is one of the Lake District’s premier events. We’re bringing a display about Swallows and Amazons this year. If you get the chance, do come and say “hello”.

Swallows and Amazons Musical at the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick

The highly-acclaimed Swallows and Amazons Musical is coming to the Lake District in November. We’re grateful to the Theatre by the Lake for offering to host a Voyage of Discovery in the Upper Circle throughout the production.
